Progressing with Steam Integration and Lobby Functionality
I’m thrilled to share our progress on implementing Steam integration and lobby functionality. With every step forward, we’re getting closer to creating multiplayer experience where friends can gather, race, and compete. Here’s a glimpse into what we’ve achieved so far and what lies ahead.
Progress Update: I’ve made significant strides in integrating Steam features into our game. The initialization process is now complete, allowing players to see in their Steam friends list when someone is playing our game. Additionally, I’ve laid the foundation for lobby functionality by implementing a lobby menu in the bootstrap scene. Players can now host lobbies within the game, setting the stage for multiplayer races to come alive.
Challenges and Next Steps: While we’ve made promising progress, there’s still work to be done to fully implement a multiplayer racing. Key functionalities such as inviting friends, creating a lobby view for up to four players, and refining the overall lobby experience remain on our to-do list. These tasks present exciting challenges that we’re eager to tackle in the coming weeks.
