AI Drifting
The issues that I’m facing from the AI is how to make him drift around a curve and super sharp turns. When noticing this I had a system for normal driving on sharp turns when approaching a single sharp turn and I skips to a further part of the map early causing him to be unsure of where to go next in the current position.
Instead of making the ai skip positions early with angular calculation for the AI, I made the AI go to the next position but making the AI drift for a certain amount of seconds on tight angle then telling the AI when you stop drifting to the current node position you were going for then instead to go to one ahead of that so the AI can read the repositioning node. With this implemented I can manually set a drifting spot for the ai to prepare for drifting then where to go to next after a certain amount of time then with that he can drift more than ever when he’s needed to on crazy wacky tracks.
